An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Workshop Manager to join our successful family-run vehicle repair business. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys leading a team while remaining involved in the day-to-day workshop operations. We are seeking a hands-on Workshop Manager who can oversee a team of approximately 6 staff, maintain high standards of workmanship, and ensure the smooth running of a busy workshop. The successful candidate will spend approximately 70% of their time managing the operation and 30% working on the tools. This is an excellent position for a motivated individual looking for a long-term career with a respected independent garage.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing the day-to-day operation of the workshop
- Leading, motivating and developing a team of around 6 technicians and support staff
- Allocating work and ensuring jobs are completed efficiently and to a high standard
- Monitoring productivity, efficiency and workshop performance
- Carrying out quality control checks
- Supporting diagnostics, servicing, maintenance and repair work as required
- Ensuring health and safety procedures are followed
- Delivering excellent customer service and maintaining strong customer relationships
Requirements
- Qualified Vehicle Technician or time-served Vehicle Technician
- Strong all-round knowledge of vehicle servicing, diagnostics and repairs
- Previous workshop management, supervisory or team leader experience
- Experience managing a team of approximately 6 staff
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Ability to lead by example and maintain high workshop standards
- Full UK Driving Licence
