Hays Education is supporting friendly primary schools across Yardley and the wider B25 area as they prepare for the new academic year. We are looking for caring, dependable Teaching Assistants who can become a valued part of school life from September 2026. You may already have classroom experience, or you might be looking to build on your work with children in another setting. Either way, if you are patient, positive and keen to help pupils thrive, this could be the next step for you.

Your new role

  • Working alongside the class teacher, you will help pupils feel supported, included and ready to learn.
  • Depending on the school and year group, your responsibilities could include:
    • Supporting learning and classroom activities across EYFS, KS1 or KS2
    • Guiding small groups through focused tasks and interventions
    • Offering individual support to pupils who need extra encouragement
    • Helping children build confidence, independence and positive learning habits
    • Contributing to a calm, welcoming and inclusive classroom
    • Supporting classroom organisation, resources and everyday routines

Full-time and part-time options are available, including long-term assignments and roles with the potential to become permanent.

What you’ll need to succeed

  • Have supported children in a school, nursery, childcare, youth work or similar setting
  • Genuinely enjoy helping children learn, grow and feel confident
  • Communicate well and work positively as part of a team
  • Are dependable, flexible and ready to use their initiative
  • Ideally hold a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant, CACHE, NVQ or equivalent qualification
