Senior Social Worker (SSW) - Social Care Qualified
Undertake Section 47 child protection enquiries and Section 17 assessments within statutory timescales, ensuring children are safeguarded and their welfare is promoted.
Complete high-quality assessments, analysing risk and protective factors to inform decision-making and appropriate intervention plans.
Conduct statutory home visits, direct work with children and families, and gather information from partner agencies to support safeguarding investigations.
Manage a low but fast-paced caseload, ensuring all enquiries, assessments, and reports are completed accurately and within required deadlines.
Participate in the team duty rota, responding to new safeguarding referrals and making timely decisions regarding appropriate action.
Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners, including schools, health professionals, police, and other agencies, to ensure effective information sharing and coordinated safeguarding responses.
Prepare and maintain accurate case records, assessments, reports, and court documentation in accordance with statutory requirements and organisational policies.
Present cases confidently at strategy discussions, child protection meetings, and other professional forums, providing evidence-based recommendations.
Ensure all practice complies with relevant legislation, statutory guidance, Social Work England professional standards, and organisational safeguarding procedures.
Contribute to a positive team environment by sharing knowledge, supporting colleagues where appropriate, and maintaining high professional and ethical standards in all aspects of practice.
