You will be joining an industry-leading Tier 1 contractor renowned for delivering major and complex infrastructure projects across the UK.
This multi-accredited and high-profile contractor is well-known for their commitment to quality, safety and innovation as well as valuing its people and investing in their growth.
They are currently delivering one of the UK's most significant infrastructure programmes, HS2, and as a result, they are actively seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their high-performing commercial team.
This is a full-time permanent position based out of their modern Birmingham office with hybrid and flexible working.
Your new role
As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the commercial management of major civil engineering works from procurement through to final account.
Working closely with project delivery teams, you will provide commercial leadership, ensure contractual compliance and support the successful delivery of key project objectives.
Key responsibilities will include
- Managing the commercial performance of allocated work packages
- Administering NEC contracts and ensuring contractual obligations are met
- Preparing, managing and agreeing interim applications and final accounts
- Procuring and managing subcontractors, including change control and variations
- Identifying commercial risks and opportunities and implementing mitigation strategies
- Producing accurate cost reporting, forecasting and cash flow management
- Supporting project teams with commercial advice and decision-making
- Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders, clients, supply chain partners and subcontractors
- Contributing to the successful delivery of one of the UK's most high-profile infrastructure projects.
- What you'll need to succeed
To excel in this role, you will bring
- Degree/HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying (or similar qualification) or experience equivalent
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within heavy civils
- Strong working knowledge of NEC form of contact
- Excellent cost control, reporting and stakeholder management skills
- A proactive, commercially astute and solutions-focused mindset
- Full UK driving licence.
