Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Landscaper or Gardening professional to join a team delivering high-quality gardening and small landscaping projects while training and mentoring young people through structured work experience programmes. This is a hands-on role combining practical landscaping work with training, mentoring and coaching. You will deliver projects for clients and community biodiversity initiatives while helping young people develop practical skills, confidence and work-readiness.

You will work with young people who may face barriers to employment, supporting them to develop practical and employability skills and progress towards qualifications and future employment within the construction, landscaping and gardening sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality gardening and small landscaping projects for clients and community initiatives
  • Train and mentor young people in practical gardening and landscaping skills
  • Deliver structured work experience programmes
  • Monitor learners during practical activities and record their progress
  • Assess learners' work and provide constructive feedback
  • Help learners develop employability skills, positive attitudes and workplace behaviours
  • Provide training in the safe use of basic tools and equipment
  • Support learners preparing for their CSCS exam
  • Help learners develop their Health & Safety knowledge
  • Work with young people who may face multiple barriers to employment
  • Safely transport young people, tools and equipment between different sites
  • Ensure projects are completed safely and to a high standard
  • Promote a positive learning culture and act as a positive role model
  • Maintain a strong commitment to safeguarding young people and vulnerable adults
  • Support the wider training team with additional duties where required

The Person

We are looking for someone who can combine strong practical landscaping skills with the ability to teach and motivate others. You should be confident working on client projects while also being able to demonstrate practical techniques, explain tasks clearly and encourage young people to develop their skills. This role would suit an experienced Landscaper, Gardener, Grounds Maintenance professional or similar who enjoys working outdoors and has an interest in helping people develop practical and employability skills.
