As Finance Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day running of the finance function, taking responsibility for both Purchase Ledger and Accounts Receivable activities.

Working closely within a small, collaborative finance team and reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you will gain excellent exposure across a broad range of finance duties while developing your technical accounting skills.

Your responsibilities will include raising weekly and monthly customer invoices, processing supplier invoices, matching purchase orders and ensuring accurate coding and data entry.

You will create weekly self-billed invoices, support the management of aged debtors and creditors, reconcile customer and supplier accounts, complete bank reconciliations, and assist with month-end processes.

You will also liaise professionally with customers and suppliers, resolving queries efficiently and maintaining positive working relationships.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will have previous experience working within a financial environment and be confident using accounting software.

Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, are essential, alongside excellent organisational abilities and strong attention to detail.

You will be a confident communicator who can build relationships with colleagues, customers and suppliers at all levels.

The ability to manage multiple priorities, work effectively within a small team, and maintain a high level of accuracy is key.

Ideally, you will be currently studying AAT or have experience using Xero accounting software.

This role is full-time, based in the Birmingham office.

The role will then become hybrid once probation is based.

Please note, this is a temporary to permanent vacancy for the right candidate.
