An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and motivated Band 7 team manager within the Night team. This will be to work alongside a 2nd team manager already in post. You will provide clinical leadership for the night team by working to improve and develop patient centred evidence based care for people within their own homes and ensure that UCR needs are maintained.

The development of the team is a key responsibility of the role, this includes induction, training, clinical supervision, appraisals, and developing a close working partnership with the evening service strengthening the Out of Hours team. The post holder as Team Manager is responsible for effective management and the relationships and communication with all stakeholders and the wider MDT and day teams.

To provide operational and clinical leadership for the Service with the Service Manager / Matron, to ensure the effective provision of high-quality, safe clinical services for patients against agreed outcome measures, service level agreements, activity, and financial targets. To provide strong, visible, inclusive, and compassionate leadership across the Service.

In partnership with Divisional colleagues, to constantly review and improve the service(s), taking into account local and national guidelines and guidance from professional leads. To ensure that effective strategies are in place for the Service and that key elements of the service are joined up within Divisional business plans.

To ensure that the Service manages its expenditure within the agreed delegated budget and contributes towards the financial management of the Division, ensuring any opportunities for increased efficiency are realised in liaison with the Service Manager/Lead Matron. To enforce and implement the implementation of robust Cost Improvement Plans (CIP).

Our District Nurse service is a busy and forward thinking provider of community nursing over a 24 hours timeframe and across domiciliary and clinic settings serving a diverse population. We have strong links with all our key stakeholders in particular our General Practitioners.

We are looking for a dynamic leader suitably qualified to join our friendly and innovative team. The role encompasses leadership, management and expert clinical skills. Applicants should have a degree in district nursing, have completed the nurse prescribers course, have a teaching qualification and have current NMC registration. Previous experience of working in the NHS within a district nursing team at band 6 or band 7 levels is essential.

Applicants will need to be able to travel independently between appointments citywide and be prepared to work flexible hours to cover service demand. Operating hours are from 21.30-0800hrs.
