The Ward Administrator is responsible for providing a comprehensive and professional administrative, secretarial and organisational support service to the Ward Managers and multidisciplinary team. The post holder acts as a key point of contact for the ward, ensuring effective communication, coordination and management of administrative processes that support the delivery of high-quality patient care.

The role involves managing correspondence, maintaining accurate records, arranging and minuting meetings, supporting workforce administration processes, coordinating communications with internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring ward information systems are maintained accurately and confidentially. The post holder works closely with clinical and management teams to support the efficient day-to-day running of the ward and contributes to the continuous improvement of administrative systems and processes.

By undertaking a wide range of administrative duties, the Ward Administrator enables clinical staff to focus on delivering safe, effective and patient-centred care while ensuring compliance with Trust policies, governance requirements and operational standards.

The Ward Administrator is responsible for providing high-quality administrative and secretarial support to the ward and multidisciplinary team. The role involves coordinating communications, managing records and correspondence, organising and minuting meetings, supporting workforce administration, maintaining electronic diaries, liaising with internal and external stakeholders, including clinical teams, patients, carers, social workers and other NHS organisations, the Ministry of Justice, Police and Courts and ensuring efficient day-to-day ward operations. The post plays a key role in enabling clinical staff to focus on delivering safe and effective patient care.
