We are looking for a compassionate and caring chef to join our family at Beech House Care Home.

Ensuring the safe, smooth running of the kitchen and ensure that a high standard of food is selected and prepared attractively for the residents.
To ensure that a high standard of personal appearance, hygiene and record keeping is consistently maintained in accordance with policies of the Home and Environmental Health.
Responsible for all food ordering, menu selection and shrinkage/waste control
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- To keep all food and food storage areas clean and tidy in accordance with the Home’s cleaning schedule.
- To plan a 4 week ‘rotating’, balanced menu, considering seasonal foods and nutritional content and adjusting menu accordingly.
- To keep a record of residents’ likes and dislikes and offer alternatives to arranged menu.
- To use homemade deserts and cakes.
- To order food from main suppliers and check condition of same- being mindful of budgetary control and keeping records and invoices for all purchases.
- To use ‘Safer Food Better Business’ as a base for kitchen procedures.
- To ensure all staff assisting in the kitchen wear appropriate clothing and behave in an appropriate manner.
- To keep all kitchen records up to date. And compliant with Health and safety regulations.
- To work as a ‘team member’ in the home and respond to all reasonable requests from Management regarding extra hours, catering for special events or improving standards.
- To attend staff meetings and mandatory training.
Job Duties
- Prepare all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner
- Operate standard kitchen equipment safety and efficiently
- Clean and maintain station in practicing good safety and sanitation
- Assist with the cleaning and organization of kitchen and equipment
- Restock items as needed throughout the shift
- Adhere to all sanitation and food production codes
