Handle with Care (Black Country) Limited is looking for an experienced Social Care Training and Development Officer. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering Induction, mandatory refresher and professional updating courses to our workforce; ensuring they have the knowledge, skills and competences required to deliver an outstanding care service. This role is responsible for ensuring our workforce is compliant with the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014, CQC Fundamental Standards, and best practice in adult social care.

The ideal applicant will possess at least 3 years training experience within the Social Care or Healthcare sectors and has a good understanding of the care quality commission’s standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Deliver the Care Certificate 16 standards, refresher and mandatory training in accordance with the Handle with Care (BC) workforce key performance plan.
  • Design and deliver training activities with supporting materials which builds staff knowledge, competencies, skills, confidence, and the professional behaviours required for the delivery of high-quality homecare services.
  • Evaluate induction and training programmes using feedback, assessments, observations, and investigation outcomes, adapting content to reflect regulatory requirements and changes.
  • Ensure learning and assessment practices are inclusive, evidence-based, and outcome-focused.
  • Undertake and record care workers medication, stoma, moving and handling, and catheter competency assessments to ensure their competency; providing constructive feedback and tailored development support when required.
