Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people? East Sussex Skills Academy is looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support our students in overcoming barriers to learning and building their self-esteem. In this rewarding role based in Bexhill on Sea, you will work closely with Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 pupils who face social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties. You will guide them through small group work, one-to-one interventions, and positive behavioural strategies to help them achieve their full academic and personal potential.
What We Are Looking For:
- A good level of education to Level 2 or equivalent, including English and maths (or a willingness to achieve this)
- Experience offering support, guidance, and information to diverse groups.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of the unique issues affecting students.
- Excellent front-line communication skills, empathy, patience, and a calm, courteous manner under pressure.

East Sussex Skills Academy, located in Bexhill, recently joined London South East Academies Trust. As an alternative provision, the school supports up to 94 pupils in Years 9-11 who are unable to access mainstream education. ESSA offers a broad range of vocational pathways. Pupils receive high quality teaching in maths, English and science alongside expert professional tuition in Construction multi-trades, Hairdressing, Barbering & Beauty, Automotive, Hospitality & Catering, Sports & Fitness and Arts & Creativity.
