Recycling & Waste Services wish to recruit an individual to work as part of the Disposal team to safely operate Whitehill Waste Transfer Station and Commercial Recycling Centre. The attached Job Outline provides details of the specific duties and responsibilities.
This role includes:
- the operation of plant and equipment, including a telescopic handler, scissor lift, compactors and power washer
- assist and direct colleagues from other Council services to segregate and separate recycling and waste materials in the Commercial Recycling Centre
- acting as a reversing assistant in a safety critical environment
- general duties to keep the site clean and tidy such as litter picking, cleaning, loading and unloading waste
Hours of work are 7am-7pm Monday-Friday and 7am-4pm Saturday & Sunday, on a shift pattern which involves working 14 days in 28, including two weekends, and currently attracts a 12.5% shift allowance.
