Our client, a reputable main car dealership in Basingstoke, Hampshire, is seeking a Workshop Controller to oversee workshop operations and drive exceptional customer service standards.

Duties of the Workshop Controller

  • Manage and oversee daily workshop operations to optimise efficiency and productivity.
  • Supervise and motivate workshop staff, fostering a team-oriented environment.
  • Support and support technicians to meet technical and performance standards.
  • Liaise with customers regarding vehicle repairs, providing clear communication and updates.
  • Plan and schedule vehicle repairs, service jobs, and resource allocation.
  • Ensure health and safety policies are effectively implemented within the workshop.
  • Maintain accurate workshop records and monitor progress towards service targets.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the workshop environment.

Requirements for the Workshop Controller position

  • Proven management experience within a busy automotive workshop.
  • Prior experience as a Workshop Controller, Service Manager, or a similar supervisory role.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to motivate and lead a team.
  • In-depth knowledge of automotive repair procedures and workshop processes.
  • Excellent communication skills, both with customers and team members.
