We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Staff Nurse to join our dedicated team on Frederick Banting Ward (Vascular) at Basildon Hospital.

We are looking for an individual that is passionate about delivering high quality, patient‑centered care.

In this role you will be responsible for the following

  • Assessing, developing and implementing patient care plans, evaluating care given, ensuring that all documentation is completed accurately.
  • Participating in the formulation and updating of Trust policies and procedures related to speciality.
  • Ensuring all drug administration is in accordance with legal/NMC and Trust/Directorate policies and procedures.
  • Assisting with safe custody, storage and control of all drugs at ward level; after assessment of patient group directives, being able to administer drugs to patients.
  • Developing organisational and managerial skills.
  • Working with the ward manager and multi‑disciplinary team members in monitoring and maintaining policies, standards of nursing care and staff development, as part of the ward team.
  • Following the preceptorship period, the post holder is expected to carry out all relevant forms of care without direct supervision and is required to demonstrate procedures, supervise unqualified and adaptation staff whilst maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Being flexible in the approach to the clinical area and providing cover for any area specified.
