The Third in Charge is a key member of the nursery leadership team, supporting the Nursery Manager and Deputy Manager in the effective day-to-day management of the nursery.
The post holder will lead by example, ensuring consistently high standards of care, education, safeguarding and compliance across the setting.
Alongside fulfilling the role of Room Manager and Key Person, the Third in Charge will:
- Oversee staff practice
- Support apprentices and practitioners
- Monitor curriculum delivery
- Maintain high-quality learning environments
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the nursery
In the absence of the Nursery Manager and Deputy Manager, the Third in Charge will assume responsibility for the safe and efficient running of the nursery, ensuring compliance with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), Ofsted requirements and all nursery policies and procedures.
