- Supporting with personal care in a way that feels dignified, respectful and unhurried
- Supporting people living with a dementia, where communication may not always be verbal, recognising that behaviour is often a way of expressing how someone is feeling
- Responding calmly in moments of distress or uncertainty
- Noticing small changes in mood, behaviour or health and recording on to electronic care records
- Helping with meals, sitting alongside someone who needs support
- Supporting people to take part in things they enjoy, both within the home and out in the community
- Being open and honest, raising concerns and sharing information so people are supported safely and consistently
- Working closely with your team, sharing responsibility and supporting each other through the day
