More Detail About The Role

Working within the Hospital Sterilisation Decontamination Unit (HSDU), you will be responsible for carrying out stages of the decontamination cycle in accordance with departmental procedures and national standards.

Duties include

  • Cleaning, inspecting, testing, assembling, packaging and sterilising reusable medical devices and surgical instruments.
  • Operating washer disinfectors and sterilisers.
  • Completing quality checks and maintaining accurate records.
  • Following all Health & Safety, Infection Prevention and Control, and PPE requirements.
  • Working as part of a busy team to ensure instruments are processed efficiently and safely to meet service demands.

Initially 8:00am to 4:00pm or 10:00am to 6:00pm.

Regular weekday availability is required - at least three shifts a week over a 6-week period for training.

For those who enjoy the role, there may be opportunities for the role to expand with weekend work and a wider range of shift patterns following the initial training period.
