We're recruiting for a Factory Technical Manager to join The Compleat Food Group at our Barnsley site. This is a key leadership role, responsible for driving food safety, quality, and technical excellence across the factory, while delivering against both customer and business expectations.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the factory technical team day-to-day, driving a culture of high performance and continuous improvement
- Deliver technical and quality strategies aligned to retailer and TCFG requirements
- Manage customer relationships, ensuring excellence in technical account management
- Lead site audits, customer visits and ensure strong audit outcomes (BRC & retailer)
- Drive site performance through effective use of data and technical KPIs
- Develop and deliver joint quality improvement plans with customers
- Work cross-functionally with site teams and wider business to ensure aligned delivery
- Deputise for the Head of Technical when required

- Overall accountability for food safety and quality standards across the site
- Ensure full compliance with GMP, HACCP, allergen management and specifications
- Lead investigations into non-conformance, driving root cause and preventative actions
- Proactively drive continuous improvement to reduce complaints and improve quality

- Ensure full compliance with HSE policies, procedures and legislation
- Promote a strong safety culture across the site
- Ensure risk assessments, safe systems of work and training are in place

- Lead, develop and coach the technical team, driving capability and succession planning
- Set clear objectives and performance standards, with regular reviews
- Manage resourcing, performance, ER matters and development plans
- Build an engaged, high-performing team aligned to business goals

What We're Looking For
- Degree qualified in a food-related discipline
- Proven experience in a technical management role within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment (ideally chilled)
- Strong experience working with UK retailers (Top 5 preferred) and BRC standards
- Proven track record of leading audits and managing factory technical teams
- Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills
- Full UK driving licence (travel to other sites required)
