The Role
As a Fire & Security Design Engineer / Design Estimator, you will be responsible for designing and estimating Fire & Security systems from initial enquiry through to quotation and supporting projects through delivery.
Your responsibilities will include
- Designing Fire & Security systems to meet client requirements and relevant industry standards
- Producing accurate estimates, bills of materials and quotations
- Reviewing technical drawings, specifications and tender documents
- Creating system layouts and technical documentation using Auto CAD
- Preparing technical submissions and proposals
- Liaising with clients, suppliers, project managers and engineers
- Providing technical support throughout the project lifecycle
- Ensuring designs are practical, compliant and commercially viable
- Managing your own workload and deadlines
- Systems
Experience across the following systems is required
About You
The successful candidate will have previous experience within the Fire & Security industry and a strong understanding of system design and estimating.
You should have
- Experience designing Fire Alarm, CCTV, Access Control and Intruder Alarm systems
- Experience producing estimates and quotations
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and client requirements
- Strong technical understanding of Fire & Security systems
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
- Strong communication and client liaison skills
- Experience with Simpro or similar software would be advantageous.
- Knowledge of BS5839, NSI, SSAIB and other relevant industry standards would also be beneficial.
- Experience supporting or mentoring junior members of a technical team would be an advantage.
