Tower Hamlets Talking Therapies (THTT) is one of the leading national IAPT services and we are keen to recruit an experienced Psychotherapist who will be part of a Relational Therapies team working alongside psychological therapists trained in a range of therapies including Brief Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy (DIT), Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), EMDR, person-centred and Group Interventions.

We believe that staff who feel valued by the Trust and are truly engaged in the organisation deliver better outcomes for our patients. This Trust is clinician-led and provides the highest possible level of clinical expertise throughout its services. We have set ourselves the mission to improve the quality of life of all we serve and have embarked on an ambitious Quality Improvement Programme to transform the culture of the Trust to one of continuous improvement, delivered through participation of all staff and with service users, carers and families at the heart of our efforts to improve.

The post holder will work with people with different cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary and should be committed to equal opportunities. The post holder will be part of a very dynamic team and will work alongside therapists trained in a range of therapies including systemic and couple therapies, EMDR, CBT, DIT, psychodynamic and integrative therapies and a well-established PWP team.

We also have a dedicated team working with physical health related problems and long-term health conditions; this offers those who work with our team plenty of opportunities to enhance their job satisfaction by learning more about this area and developing skills in working with this population. The post holder should come with highly developed assessment and therapy skills relevant to working in a Primary Care IAPT service.

In addition to their core training, they would ideally also be trained as a qualified practitioner in at least one of the following NICE recommended high intensity therapies: Couples Therapy for Depression, Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy (DIT), Interpersonal Therapy (IPT). The service will also consider those with a good track record in evidence-based brief psychodynamic therapy as relevant to a primary care setting.

Our mission is to make a positive difference to people's lives by improving the quality of life for all we serve. Our values are: We Care, We Respect, We are Inclusive – so we are looking for people who live and breathe these qualities when supporting service users and carers, and in their relationships with colleagues in the Trust and our partner organisations.

The service will support those wishing to develop their careers by training in other recognised modalities. It also values experience or interest in delivering therapy in a group format. The post holder will work with clients who present with a range of depression and anxiety disorders. As part of their case load, the post holder will also routinely carry out telephone assessments.

The post holder will work with people from different cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary, and work in various community settings (including GP surgeries) and psychological treatment centres. We are looking for a new member to join the team who is committed, enthusiastic and willing to contribute to the service and embrace different ways of working.

This post offers opportunities to work with a range of professionals from different therapeutic backgrounds, and to be part of an evolving, integrating team. Members of our team are committed to ensuring a healthy work life balance and creating and maintaining a positive working environment.
