An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our Neurology Epilepsy clinical team at the RFH as an acute Epilepsy nurse specialist. We are looking for a nurse who has experience of working with people with Epilepsy or experience in neurology, ideally having worked as a clinical nurse specialist although induction, training and support will be provided according to their level of experience.

This is a part-time (22.5 hours per week), fixed term 12 months post focusing on improving outcomes for people with epilepsy presenting to the emergency department. There is potential for extension.

The successful candidate will join a well-established, experienced, and friendly neurology team. They are expected to work autonomously, they will be well supported and supervised within their role and have the opportunity to develop management and service improvement skills.

The post holder will need to be innovative and active in improving patient pathways. They will have excellent communication skills and will be able to work collaboratively with members of the team.

As an Epilepsy Nurse Specialist, you would be working as an expert resource in Epilepsy providing support, advice and education. You will be working closely with patients, carers, neurologists, GPs, the wider multidisciplinary team and stakeholders across secondary and primary care. The role will include nurse led clinics, phone advice and emergency department referrals.
