To work autonomously to assess, diagnose and treat adults and children presenting with minor injuries and minor illness in our new co-located Urgent Treatment Centre with the Emergency Department at St George’s Hospital and the Enhanced Primary Care Hub at Queen Mary’s Hospital.

Shifts include unsocial hours, including weekend working and twilight shifts. Practitioners will be expected to work across both UTC, streaming and EPCH as required.

The job role offers opportunity to also work across site at the Enhanced Primary Care Hub (EPCH) in Roehampton. This is a dedicated practitioner-led unit utilising an appointment-based service for patients with minor injuries and illness.

St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking experienced Emergency Practitioners from either a nursing, paramedic or physiotherapy background. We are looking for qualified Emergency Practitioners with existing experience looking for a new challenge in a new department managing patients with minor injuries and minor health.

The Emergency Department sees over 150,000 patients a year and benefits from an 8 bedded resuscitation area, large Children’s Emergency Department as well as the newly built Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC).

The Emergency Practitioner team has the opportunity for high levels of clinical support that can facilitate extending scopes of practice and development of advanced procedural skills.

Practitioner development is supported by a work-based learning programme with opportunity to work towards the Emergency Care Advanced Clinical Practitioner Curriculum. We offer ongoing development opportunities in a range of areas including MSc programmes and non-medical prescribing.

The Urgent Treatment Centre takes advantage of learning from GP and Emergency Medicine colleagues.

St George’s, Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals and Health Group cares for a population of four million people in South West London and North East Surrey. Our sites include St George’s Hospital, one of 11 major trauma centres in the UK and the largest healthcare provider and major teaching hospital in the area; St Helier Hospital, home to the South West Thames Renal and Transplantation Unit and Queen Mary's Hospital for Children; and Epsom Hospital, home to the South West London Elective Orthopaedic Centre (SWLEOC).

After years of collaboration, our two Trusts became a hospitals group in 2021. While remaining as two separate Trusts, being a hospitals group will help us to collaborate more closely on research, and the development, education, and training of our 17,000-strong workforce.

The trust also provides care for patients from a larger catchment area in southeast England, for specialties such as complex pelvic trauma. Other services treat patients from all over the country, such as family HIV care and bone marrow transplantation for non-cancer diseases. The trust also provides a nationwide state-of-the-art endoscopy training centre.
