Are you a dynamic, confident, and compassionate mental health professional looking for a role where you can make an immediate difference during some of the most challenging moments in a person's life? We are looking for an experienced Band 6 Mental Health Practitioner to join an innovative crisis response pathway supporting people experiencing mental health crises across the Newham community.
Working within an extended-hours service and alongside our Community Integrated Mental Health Services (CIMHS), Community Recovery Teams (CRT), Home Treatment Team (HTT) and wider crisis pathway partners, you will play a pivotal role in helping people access timely support in the least restrictive environment possible.
This is an exciting opportunity for practitioners who thrive in fast-paced environments, enjoy autonomous decision-making and are passionate about finding creative, person-centred alternatives to hospital admission wherever safe and appropriate. You will work directly with service users, carers, families and partner agencies to assess risk, formulate crisis plans and mobilise community resources that promote recovery, resilience and independence.
We are seeking practitioners who can build strong therapeutic relationships quickly, remain calm in complex situations, think creatively under pressure, and confidently balance risk while maintaining a compassionate and recovery-focused approach. A strong knowledge of local services and community resources, alongside excellent partnership-working skills, will be essential.
Whether supporting someone in A&E, responding to an urgent community referral, or working collaboratively with colleagues across the crisis pathway, you will help ensure people receive the right care, at the right time, in the right place.
Our mission is to make a positive difference to people's lives by improving the quality of life for all we serve. Our values are: We Care, We Respect, We are Inclusive – so we are looking for people who live and breathe these qualities when supporting service users and carers, and in their relationships with colleagues in the Trust and our partner organisations.
