The predicted salary is between 36943 - 44900 £ per year.

We are looking to recruit 2 Band 5 Accredited Clinical Coders who are self-motivated and competent in accurately coding multiple complex specialties. As well as understanding the need for high quality coded data to support healthcare planning, reimbursement, management of services, statistical analysis, and research.

The trust is looking for a committed and enthusiastic individual with excellent communication skills. The role will require you to work to strict deadlines, whilst still paying attention to detail and always maintaining a high level of accuracy.

This is a full-time position (37.5 hours) based at Barnet Hospital. A combination of site-based and remote opportunities are available. We welcome staff who work from home/agile workers and your commutable distance can be further afield. Flexibility with working times and supporting a healthy work-life balance is encouraged.

The Qualified Clinical Coding Officer is responsible for meeting essential trust requirements for statutory information and financial flows through abstracting and analysing complex and sensitive clinical information from a variety of source documentation and translating this into coded form in line with National Clinical Coding Standards using ICD10 and OPCS4 Classifications.

Clinical coding targets will be set in line with completeness, timeliness and accuracy of coding. Other key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with clinical coding and workflow audits
  • Representing the clinical coding department at multidisciplinary meetings
  • Providing advice and guidance to more junior members of the coding department in coding rules
  • Identifying any associated training needs
