We are looking for an enthusiastic and capable person to join us in the X-ray department. The Radiology Department Assistant (RDA) forms part of a team comprising radiologists, radiographers, nurses, and clerical staff. The role of RDA is varied, ranging from direct patient care in CT scanning or the Ultrasound suite, assisting with biopsies and drains, and Paediatric Radiology. The work is mainly based at both St George's Hospital in Tooting and Queen Mary's Hospital in Roehampton, with occasional cover at our solo site at the Nelson Health Centre in Wimbledon.
You need to be flexible and adaptable with good communication skills and a caring nature. You should be a good team worker but comfortable working independently and using your own initiative. The role requires working Monday to Saturday, including evenings.
Responsibilities will include:
- Observations
- Cannulation
- Venepuncture
- Coordination of the session list
- Chaperoning/assisting procedures
- Ordering of supplies/consumables
- Completion of local staff rota
