I am looking for a friendly, reliable Personal Assistant to support me with tasks around the house and garden, as well as attending appointments, shopping and getting out and about.

I have mobility and physical needs, an acquired brain injury, hearing needs and cognitive or learning needs. The successful applicant will need to be patient, understanding and able to build a good, trusting one-to-one working relationship with me.

There is a smoker in my household and pets are kept in the home, so applicants must be comfortable working in this environment and supporting with pet care where needed.

The role will involve supporting or prompting me with:

  • cooking, meal preparation, eating and drinking
  • taking medication
  • household chores
  • general homemaking and food shopping

You will also support me to attend appointments such as hospital or doctor appointments, help with caring for pets, provide support with gardening, and assist me with getting to and from school, work, college or social activities.

You will encourage my socialisation, participation in activities, friendships and independence. My needs may vary from day to day, so tasks may change and you may be required to carry out other duties that are reasonably needed.

You will be responsible for ensuring my safety at all times, reporting any accidents immediately, and reporting any defects or hazards that could give rise to an accident.

Due to the nature of the role, this post is subject to a satisfactory DBS disclosure, with costs covered. A full driving licence is essential, as the role requires you to drive my vehicle. For insurance purposes, applicants must be aged 25 or over.

Proud member of the Disability Confident employer scheme.
