Working closely with the

Junior Sous Chef and Head Chef , you will support the day-to-day operation of the kitchen, take ownership of your section during service, and continue building your culinary expertise with opportunities for progression within the Exclusive Collection.

Please note

This role is predominantly daytime based within our spa operation, with flexibility required during summer months and peak trading periods when dining service may extend into the evening.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Junior Sous Chef and Head Chef with the daily operation of the Themis kitchen.
  • Prepare, cook and present dishes to specification, maintaining consistency, quality and presentation standards.
  • Take responsibility for a designated section during service, ensuring it is organised, prepared and operating efficiently.
  • Assist in maintaining the high standards of the fresh and healthy Themis food offering.
  • Ensure all food is prepared, handled and stored in line with food safety, hygiene and allergen procedures.
  • Follow health and safety policies and promote safe working practices within the kitchen.
  • Support stock control, stock rotation and the minimisation of food waste.
  • Maintain excellent cleanliness and organisation throughout the kitchen and storage areas.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure efficient service and an exceptional guest experience.
  • Assist with training, guiding and supporting Commis Chefs and new team members where appropriate.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn, develop new skills and progress within the culinary team.

Person Specification

  • Previous experience as a Commis Chef or Demi Chef de Partie within a quality hospitality environment.
  • Passion for food, fresh ingredients and delivering consistently high standards.
  • Confident with core cooking skills and ready to take on greater responsibility.
  • Good understanding of food safety, hygiene and allergen management.
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in producing quality dishes.
  • Ability to work effectively in a busy kitchen environment while remaining calm and professional.
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to learn, develop and progress.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
  • Flexible approach to working hours, particularly during peak trading periods and seasonal demand.
