We're looking for an enthusiastic Lecturer - English to inspire and empower students to succeed, equipping them with the essential literacy, communication and employability skills they need for their futures. You will bring learning to life through creative and engaging delivery across GCSE and/or Functional Skills, fostering a positive, inclusive environment where every student feels supported, challenged and motivated to achieve their best.
Working collaboratively with the Curriculum Manager and a dedicated team of colleagues, you will play a key role in supporting a diverse range of learners, using innovative teaching approaches and targeted interventions to overcome barriers and drive progress.
Alongside a rewarding teaching role, you'll benefit from a £6,000 Industry Supplement Payment (ISP) to recognise your valuable industry experience. You may also be eligible for a Targeted Retention Incentive (TRI) payment provided by the Department for Education, offering additional financial support as you transition into teaching (subject to eligibility criteria).
As a Lecturer - English, you will:
- Deliver student success through high-quality teaching and learning, every day
- Plan, deliver and assess GCSE and Functional Skills English qualifications
- Track and monitor the progress of learners
- Contribute to the development of English provision that meets the needs of students, employers and stakeholders now and in the future
- Undertake in-house teacher training qualification/s if you are not yet a fully qualified teacher

Taking Teaching Further
The College actively engages with the Education & Training Foundation's Taking Teaching Further scheme to recruit industry professionals to teach within Further Education. As industry professionals offer our students industry experience and insight we support our unqualified teachers to learn 'on the job'. You will be given full support throughout your development to fully qualified teacher status. Whilst in employment you would be enrolled onto the Level 3 Award in Education and Training. After completion you can choose to move be onto our Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training qualification. This is a great way for experienced professionals to achieve a recognised teaching qualification whilst in employment.
