Buckinghamshire Healthcare Trust Clinical Engineering is expanding its services to deliver the medical technology needed to care for the people of Buckinghamshire. We are responsible for the lifetime management of a large and complex fleet of medical equipment providing sufficient, safe and effective high-quality medical equipment and a range of technical services to clinical teams.
A forward-thinking service aiming to be a trusted partner, driving the adoption of new technology such as integrated infusion systems with Drug Error Reduction Systems (DERS), Critical Care information systems with fully integrated medical equipment data, real-time location systems to improve equipment management (RTLS) and systems to support the care of our patients in the community.
We are inviting applications for a Specialist Technologist to join our Technical team, based at Stoke Mandeville Hospital, supervising the work of a team supporting a fleet of specialist & standard medical equipment such as anaesthetic machines, ventilators, ultrasound machines, etc.
You will be suitably qualified in science or engineering on the Register of Clinical Technologists, or incorporated or chartered with the engineering council, with substantial experience and technical expertise in medical equipment maintenance. You'll combine high technical standards with the ability to lead systematic performance improvement, identifying efficiencies, setting expectations clearly, and supporting the team to deliver them.
The post holder supervises the Clinical Engineering Technical Service team at the Stoke Mandeville Hospital site (and other northern Trust sites) to ensure effective and continuous lifecycle management supporting the Trust’s medical equipment fleet. Responsible for the supervision, workload and technical development of the team members, monitoring and overseeing the quality and safety of the service, managing the stock of spare parts and specialist tools and equipment used to deliver the service.
