South West London and St George's Mental Health NHS Trust has a rich history, well-established community links and an international reputation. We provide a full range of local mental health services to the Kingston, Merton, Richmond, Sutton and Wandsworth London boroughs, as well as specialist forensic mental health services, including high secure services, at Springfield Hospital. About the teams: Central Wandsworth & West Battersea Integrated Recovery Hubs is one of four multidisciplinary Integrated Recovery Hubs (IRHs) in Wandsworth and provide specialist assessment, treatment and recovery work for adults with a wide variety of severe and enduring mental health difficulties. Although you will be based in one team, you will work across all the four IRHs who provide a centralised psychology service in Wandsworth.

Additional important Information: The role is for 4.5 days per week. The post holder will be required to work at Springfield University Hospital as agreed, in line with the Trust's Working from Home Policy.

About the location: The Central Wandsworth & West Battersea is based at Springfield Hospital. You will be responsible for supporting the provision of a systematic clinical psychology service within the context of a multidisciplinary team focussing on:

  • Psychology triages and assessments
  • Low intensity evidence based psychological interventions
  • Teaching, training and consultation to MDT
  • Service evaluation, audit and quality improvement projects
  • Attending weekly psychology and team meetings
  • Joint working with team members
  • Chairing meetings and minute-taking
  • Development of psychology information leaflets
  • Attending weekly supervision with the team psychologist
  • Additional peer supervision as agreed

Key Responsibilities:

  • To assist the qualified psychologists in carrying out psychological triages and assessments.
  • To assist in the formulation and delivery of low intensity psychological treatments and/or management of a client’s problems, under the supervision of a qualified professional psychologist in both community and out-patient settings.
  • To assist in the coordination and running of therapeutic groups.
  • To attend and contribute to multi-disciplinary meetings, including referral, clinical and review meetings.
  • To undertake protocol based psychological assessments of clients applying self-report measures, rating scales, direct and indirect structured observations and semi-structured interviews with clients, family members and others involved in the client’s care under the supervision of a qualified professional psychologist.
  • To assist in the implementation and monitoring of treatment programmes in a way that is positive and respectful of clients’ and carers' needs.
  • To assist in the compilation of assessment, update and discharge reports as required.
  • To complete initial contact assessments for new clients entering the team, complete the DIALOG plus care plan, feed this back to the MDT.
  • To call clients to book in psychology triage assessments for the psychology team.
