Munchies started with one store in Darnall, Sheffield, back in 2017 — big flavour, bigger personality, and a serious smash burger.
We’ve since grown to six stores, and we’re nowhere near done.
In 2024, we were crowned Best Takeaway in Britain — and Best Takeaway in Yorkshire — at the Just Eat Restaurant Awards, official proof that what we’re building here is something special.
Now we’re looking for an Assistant Manager to help lead the next chapter.
The Role
- As Assistant Manager, you’ll support your General Manager in running a tight, high-energy shift — leading the crew, hitting the numbers, and making sure every customer gets that award-winning Munchies experience, every single time.
- Lead the shift — running the floor and kitchen, keeping speed, accuracy and energy high.
- Coach and develop the crew — turning new starters into future Assistant Managers.
- Support your General Manager on the numbers that matter: labour, waste, speed of service and sales.
- Keep our award-winning standards on point — stock, deliveries, food hygiene and Health & Safety, every shift.
- Step up and run the store solo when needed — opening, closing, cash handling, full accountability.
- Handle customer feedback calmly, fairly and fast — living the Munchies way, especially under pressure.
- Why Munchies
- Real progression: many of our General Managers started exactly where you’re starting now — and the next step from here is General Manager, or beyond.
- Join a multi-award-winning brand — crowned Best Takeaway in Britain and Best Takeaway in Yorkshire at the Just Eat Restaurant Awards.
- We’re growing fast, and that means real opportunity — for you, and for the people you lead.
- Structured leadership training, with a proper handover and ongoing support — not just thrown in.
- Free staff meals on shift, plus a further staff discount on food when you’re off the clock too.
- Bonus: a performance-related bonus of up to £70 a week on top of your salary, rewarding you when targets are hit.
- Company pension: auto-enrolment into our workplace scheme, because we want you set up for the long term, not just the next shift.
- Regular team events — because the best teams celebrate together, not just work together.
- A genuinely supportive team that looks out for each other, especially when it’s busy.
