Maternity Housekeeper | Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust

An exciting opportunity has arisen on the Maternity Unit for a dedicated, enthusiastic and motivated housekeeper.

Ward 27 consists of a 29 bedded inpatient ward.

The successful candidate will contribute to patient care by supporting meal ordering, maintaining stock on the ward, supporting with cleaning tasks, assisting with bed changes amongst other important tasks whilst working alongside the midwifery and neonatal clinical teams.

  • Welcome patients, families and visitors to the ward in a friendly, professional and courteous manner.
  • Respond promptly to call bells where appropriate, communicating patient requests and messages to the midwifery and neonatal teams.
  • Support ward staff with the preparation, serving and distribution of meals and refreshments.
  • Manage the storage, rotation, and replenishment of ward food supplies, ensuring stock is stored safely and used within expiry dates.
  • Order non-clinical supplies as required, maintain accurate records of orders and coordinate the receipt and distribution of deliveries.
  • Monitor stock levels and liaise with supplies and other departments to maintain adequate stock, escalating shortages to the Ward 27 Lead Midwife as required.
  • Assist midwifery and neonatal staff with the cleaning, care and routine maintenance of ward equipment, reporting any faults or defects promptly.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, tidy and welcoming ward environment in accordance with Trust standards.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Safeguard and promote the welfare of babies, children, young people and vulnerable adults, following Trust safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to provide a high quality, patient centered service and contribute to a positive patient experience.
