We are recruiting an enthusiastic Apprentice Builder / Carpenter to join a busy construction team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to begin a long-term career in construction while earning a wage and working towards a recognised apprenticeship qualification.
Working alongside experienced builders and carpenters, you'll receive hands-on training across a variety of construction projects while developing the practical skills needed to become a qualified tradesperson.
THE ROLE
- Location: Guildford Area
- Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm (40 hours per week)
- Trial Period: One-month trial before progressing onto the full apprenticeship
As an Apprentice Builder / Carpenter, you will support experienced builders and carpenters on-site while learning all aspects of the trade through practical experience and college-based learning.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist experienced builders and carpenters with a variety of construction tasks.
- Learn first fix and second fix carpentry techniques.
- Support general building, repair and maintenance works.
- Safely use hand and power tools under supervision.
- Prepare materials and maintain clean, organised work areas.
- Follow technical drawings, instructions and site procedures.
- Attend college and successfully complete your apprenticeship programme.
- Follow all health and safety requirements on-site.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be a resident of the London Borough of Wandsworth.
- Genuine enthusiasm for construction and carpentry.
- Strong willingness to learn and develop practical skills.
- Reliable, punctual and hardworking attitude.
- Ability to follow instructions and work well within a team.
- Good awareness of health and safety.
