Hays are delighted to be partnering with a well-established specialist fit-out contractor to recruit a Buyer for their team in Antrim. This organisation has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality projects across various sectors throughout the UK and Ireland. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a motivated procurement professional to join their busy team.

Your new role

As Buyer, you will play a key role in supporting the successful delivery of multiple fit-out projects. You will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing materials, obtaining competitive pricing, producing procurement schedules, tracking project costs against budgets, and managing purchase orders from placement through to delivery. You will work closely with Quantity Surveyors, Site Managers, Estimators and suppliers to ensure materials are available when required and projects remain on schedule and within budget.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Previous experience within a Buyer, Purchasing or Procurement role
  • Strong supplier relationship and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience sourcing materials and negotiating with suppliers
  • Ability to manage purchase orders and monitor deliveries
  • Excellent organisational and workload management skills
  • Strong attention to detail and numerical skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
  • Experience within construction, fit-out, joinery or a related industry would be advantageous
