We're recruiting a General Operative to join a busy building supply manufacturing plant in Aldridge, Walsall. This is a key nights-based position supporting day-to-day production, site standards, and the safe running of critical equipment. You'll be responsible for maintaining clean and organised work areas, completing daily reporting, supporting and training new starters, and overseeing the daily running of the kiln burner (including resets, basic maintenance, and escalation of issues).

Key Responsibilities

  • Keeping production and work areas clean, tidy and safe at all times
  • Running daily reports and completing documentation accurately
  • Supporting and providing training/mentoring to new employees
  • Daily operation of the kiln burner, including monitoring performance and basic checks, resetting as required, carrying out basic maintenance tasks, reporting faults/issues promptly and accurately

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in a manufacturing/production environment (building supplies or heavy industry ideal)
  • Computer literate with confidence using basic systems for reporting
  • Able to work on your own initiative and make sound decisions during night shift
  • Reliable, safety-conscious and comfortable working in a busy, industrial environment
  • Confident communicating issues and handovers to relevant teams

  • Night shifts: 6pm-6am, 4 on / 4 off
  • Pay starting from £14.95 per hour, with increases as you progress
