Inthis role, you’ll play a key part in delivering a high-quality cateringservice, ensuring excellent customer satisfaction and supporting the smoothrunning of the kitchen.
You’ll help lead and motivate the chef team, manageresources effectively and ensure all routine and function catering requirementsare delivered to a consistently high standard.

What you’ll do
- Prepare, cook and serve nutritious, appetising meals to a consistently high standard, following daily menus, portion control and presentation requirements.
- Organise and manage your shift effectively, working alongside supervisors and the Senior Chef to support and motivate the kitchen team.
- Maintain excellent food safety, hygiene and personal presentation standards, ensuring all food is stored, prepared, cooked and served in line with company procedures and legislation.
- Monitor and record temperatures of fridges, freezers, hot cabinets and service areas, ensuring food is cooked and held at the correct temperatures throughout service.
- Manage food and kitchen resources responsibly, minimising waste and ensuring the economical use of food, fuel and equipment.
- Report equipment defects and any issues or non-conformances promptly, follow ordering, receiving, handover and opening/closing procedures, and continue to develop your skills and knowledge.
What you'llbring
- Previous experience working in a similar chef role within the hospitality, catering or service industry.
- City & Guilds 706/1 & 706/2, NVQ Level 2 or equivalent chef qualification.
- Intermediate Food Hygiene qualification, with a good understanding of Health & Safety at Work (HSWA) and COSHH requirements.
- Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene and safe working practices.
- A flexible and adaptable approach, with the ability to work varying hours to meet business requirements.
- Willingness to work occasional unsociable hours, including evenings, weekends or other shifts as required.
- Flexibility to travel and stay overnight when required for training or other business needs.
