About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified and experienced MOT Tester (Class 4) & Technician to join a friendly and growing automotive team.
The business is expanding its capacity and is looking for someone who takes pride in delivering high-quality, professional MOT testing and vehicle maintenance. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced MOT Tester looking for a stable, Monday-to-Friday role with no weekend or Bank Holiday working.
We may also consider applicants whose current MOT Tester qualification has lapsed due to inactivity, subject to the necessary training and DVSA re-examination.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out statutory Class 4 MOT tests on cars and light vans up to 3,000kg DGW.
- Conduct MOT tests accurately and efficiently within scheduled 45-minute appointments.
- Maintain full compliance with the DVSA MOT Testing Scheme and current testing standards.
- Ensure MOT records, paperwork and online database entries are completed accurately.
- Correctly apply the PRS (Pass / Rectified at Station) process where appropriate.
- Identify and accurately record MOT advisories, providing customers with clear information about potential future issues.
- Maintain the MOT testing area, equipment and facilities to a clean and operational standard.
- Report any equipment defects or issues promptly to management.
- Uphold the highest standards of honesty, integrity and professionalism throughout the MOT testing process.
- Carry out retests where required following MOT failure rectification work.
When there are gaps in the MOT diary, the MOT ramp can be used for additional customer vehicle work.
MOT testing will remain the primary focus of the role, with general servicing and repair work being relatively minimal when MOT appointments are fully booked.

- A strong communicator with a customer-focused approach.
