We have a modern Oracle Health Electronic Patient Record, extensive cloud adoption, integrated health records, AI already supporting clinical care, and a leadership team that genuinely backs innovation.
You will lead the Trust’s AI and automation strategy, helping us identify opportunities that improve patient care, reduce administrative burden and give clinicians more time with patients. This isn’t about writing reports that sit on shelves. Whether your background is within healthcare, technology, consulting or another innovative industry, if you’ve successfully delivered AI or automation at scale we’d love to hear from you. If you want your work to improve the lives of thousands of patients every day, this could be the opportunity you’ve been looking for. Come and help us build one of the most innovative digital hospitals in the NHS.
You’ll work alongside clinicians, operational teams, digital specialists and executive leaders to develop an ambitious programme of AI and automation projects across the organisation. You’ll help establish governance, identify priorities, oversee delivery and ensure solutions are safe, ethical and genuinely improve outcomes.
Current areas of focus include:
- Intelligent workflow automation
- Microsoft Copilot and Microsoft Power Platform
You’ll be joining a Digital Services department with a reputation for delivering. We don’t wait for the future to arrive. We build it. We’re looking for someone who combines strategic thinking with a practical delivery mindset. Someone who enjoys turning ideas into working solutions and can bring people with them on that journey.
To manage the strategic development, implementation, governance and optimisation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and automation technologies across Milton Keynes University Hospital, enabling improved clinical outcomes, operational efficiency, productivity and staff experience.
As a medium sized general hospital, we provide a full range of general medical and surgical services, including a busy Emergency Department, Maternity, and Paediatrics. We are also proud to offer a growing portfolio of specialist services.

- Lead identification, assessment and prioritisation of AI and automation use cases using evidence, workflow analysis, benefits appraisal and risk assessment.
- Interpret complex technical, clinical, operational and data issues where there may be conflicting evidence, no precedent, or significant safety and governance implications.
- Assess risks relating to clinical safety, bias, equality, privacy, cyber security, supplier assurance, model performance and operational change.
- Use data analysis, modelling and evaluation methods to demonstrate benefits, adoption, performance and safe ongoing use.
- Develop and maintain the Trust AI and automation roadmap, translating strategy into prioritised programmes, deliverables, milestones and resource plans.
- Plan and coordinate a broad range of complex activities across clinical and non-clinical services, adjusting plans in response to changing operational priorities.
