An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) to join our fast-paced and dynamic Emergency General Surgery team. You will become part of an established and supportive multidisciplinary team consisting of 5 Emergency General Surgeons and 4 Advanced Nurse Practitioners, delivering high-quality acute surgical care within a busy surgical service. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced ACP/ANP who thrives in a challenging clinical environment and is passionate about delivering safe, effective, and patient-centred care.

You will play a key role in the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of acute surgical patients while supporting service development, teaching, and quality improvement initiatives. The successful candidate will be expected to work autonomously within their scope of practice, demonstrating advanced clinical decision-making skills while also working collaboratively within the wider multidisciplinary team.
Daily Responsibilities
- Daily management of acute surgical patients.
- Participating in consultant-led, registrar and independent ward rounds.
- Clerking and assessing new surgical referrals.
- Participating in the emergency care of acutely unwell surgical patients.
- Promptly identifying, assessing, and initiating treatment for the deteriorating patient.
- Coordinating and supporting resident doctors.
- Delivering teaching and education to the wider multidisciplinary team.
- Contributing to audit, research, and service improvement activities.
