Advanced Clinical Nurse Specialist - Royal Stoke University Hospital

Job status: Permanent, full-time contract, 37.5 hours per week Working schedule: Day shifts, Monday to Sunday, including bank holidays
Salary: Marie Curie Clinical Pay Scale, aligned with AFC Band 7: £49,387 to £56,515 per annum
Location: Royal Stoke University Hospital, Newcastle Road, Stoke-on-Trent, with occasional work expected at County Hospital, Stafford
What we are looking for
- Nursing qualification with relevant post-registration experience, including at least one year of recent experience in palliative care or end-of-life care.
- Non-Medical Prescribing qualification, or willingness to work towards one.
- Mentorship or teaching qualification.
- Specialist knowledge of palliative and end-of-life care, including current national guidance.
- Ability to independently manage symptoms and side effects associated with medical conditions and initiate appropriate treatment.
- Ability to observe and assess clinical practice to evaluate standards of care.
- Understanding of emergency care systems and discharge processes.
- Experience managing complex discharges within an emergency department is preferred but not essential.
- Experience leading a team of nurses or healthcare professionals.
- Masters degree desirable.
