Community Midwifery requires the support of an Administrative Assistant. We have 9 Community Teams that work across Derby City, Derbyshire and Staffordshire. The efficient running of these relies on administrative support. Community midwifery operates across several team bases throughout Derby City, Derbyshire and Staffordshire. The successful applicant will be expected to be based at Florence Nightingale Community Hospital and support the others virtually; there may be some requirement to attend another site on occasion but this would be minimal.
The successful applicant would be expected to work closely with these teams and to support them with ordering stock requirements. There are a number of databases that require monitoring and data input; therefore, confidence with IT skills and Excel are required. Also, there is a requirement to access patient systems and schedule appointments, as well as assist in any additional related project work as directed.
The role will have some requirement to manage diaries, take notes and send out agendas. The postholder will not be under direct supervision at all times; therefore, working under own initiative is key. The main duties of the job will be updating spreadsheets and databases, ordering stock for teams, filing and tracking records, responding to emails, using different electronic patient record systems, making appointments and communicating with different departments.
