About the role: We are seeking to appoint an Achievement Assistant to work within the SEND Department and ensure our students with additional needs receive the level of support they require and make good progress. King Charles I School has a Mainstream Autism Base and Language Unit (the Communication Centre) and caters for the needs of children who have autism, a language impairment and/or learning difficulties. We would expect the successful candidate to work with both students in the Communication Centre and those in our mainstream. The post is permanent, term time only plus the school training days (pro rata) and with a variable hours contract between 24-36 hours per week. From a date to be confirmed until 31 August 2027, the core hours will be 30 hours per week. This role reports to the SENCo.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience of working in a classroom environment with students
- Previous experience of working in a classroom environment with students who are disabled or have special educational needs
