Account Manager – Agricultural Supplies - Greater Manchester (Office, Home & Field Based) - Β£40,000 - Β£45,000 DOE + Mileage Allowance

The Company

This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established and respected business, managing existing key accounts while identifying and developing new opportunities across your territory.

You'll work closely with customers to understand their needs, provide tailored solutions and ensure an exceptional level of service.

The role combines field-based sales with office and home working from the company's Greater Manchester base, offering plenty of autonomy while working alongside experienced branch and support teams.

The Job

  • Develop and strengthen relationships with key agricultural and rural customers.
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities across the territory.
  • Manage and grow existing customer accounts.
  • Understand customer requirements and recommend appropriate products and solutions.
  • Work closely with branch teams to ensure orders are delivered efficiently and accurately.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for key customers.
  • Resolve customer enquiries and maintain excellent service standards.
  • Produce regular sales forecasts and account reports.
  • Attend agricultural shows, exhibitions and customer events when required.

The Candidate

  • Previous experience in Account Management, Business Development or Technical Sales.
  • Strong commercial awareness and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience selling into the agricultural, livestock, fencing, rural, construction, merchants or related sectors would be highly advantageous.
  • A proactive approach with the ability to develop new business opportunities.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal teams.
  • A full UK driving licence.

The Package

  • 40 hours per week
  • Monday to Friday
  • Flexibility to attend customer visits, agricultural shows and industry events outside standard working hours when required.

  • 21 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays and your Birthday (30 days total)
  • 22 days plus Bank Holidays and Birthday after 5 years' service (31 days)
  • 24 days plus Bank Holidays and Birthday after 10 years' service (33 days)
  • Candidate Requirements

All applicants must hold a minimum of an NVQ Level 2, Scottish NVQ Level 2, or an equivalent qualification relevant to the role applied for.

Candidates must also have the legal right to work in the UK or hold a valid visa permitting employment.
