First People Solutions are currently recruiting for a Nightshift Security Guard to join a busy heliport operation, providing security across restricted areas, passenger facilities and the wider base. This is a 48-hour rolling roster, working 6 days on / 3 days off, with 192 hours worked over a 4-week period. The role offers £13.82 per hour, with overtime opportunities available.

The Role

As a Security Guard, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment across the heliport. Duties will include:

  • Controlling access to restricted areas
  • Carrying out passenger and luggage searches using both hand-search techniques and X-ray equipment
  • Conducting regular foot patrols of the terminal and surrounding areas
  • Assisting passengers with security-related queries
  • Supporting the wider team during emergency situations
  • Remaining alert to potential safety and security risks
  • Reporting and responding to any issues in line with procedures
  • Assisting with general terminal and base duties when required

The position includes a combination of patrol-based and office-based responsibilities, so a flexible and proactive approach is essential.

About You

The successful candidate will be vigilant, reliable and confident working in a security-focused environment. You should have good communication skills and be comfortable interacting with passengers and colleagues. Due to the physical nature of the role, you must be able to lift individual items weighing up to 25lb (approximately 11kg).
