The Dick Vet Equine Hospital is looking for an experienced and reliable Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN). The post-holder should have a strong work ethic, and the ability to work as part of a dedicated team across our equine Medicine, Orthopaedic and Soft Tissue Services. RVN is essential but not necessarily in equine; we require a competent horse handler, along with excellent equine nursing and interpersonal skills.
The post holder will join a team of 10 friendly nurses, with responsibilities including:
- Theatre nursing for both standing and surgeries performed under general anaesthesia
- Support in lameness investigations
- Advanced diagnostic imaging
- Stock control
The post-holder will work independently to organise and prioritise daily/weekly workload and will contribute to teaching our undergraduate veterinary students. Out of hours working may be required.
Our highly-skilled team provide nursing support for a wide and varied caseload, with advanced equipment ranging from a 3T MRI to the latest and most advanced cardiac ultrasound machines. The post holder will be part of a multidisciplinary hospital team supporting the clinical, teaching and research activities within the hospital.
