Role: Retouch Manager
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Retouch Team, including in-house and freelance talents.
- Set priorities aligned with brand Creative Production (CP) objectives; mentor and develop direct reports; manage relationships with external retouch vendors.
- Oversee end-to-end image production workflow and identify opportunities for workflow improvements.
- Collaborate with Production, Styling, and Photography to meet image requirements for AllSaints.com, John Varvatos, and digital concessions.
- Prioritize workload against launch dates and ensure KPIs are met; hold weekly status meetings with Concessions, Digital and Trade teams.
- Ensure high-quality retouched imagery and ownership of the QC process; manage image uploads for multiple channels (ecommerce, press, looks, lookbook, partners).
- Collaborate with the Studio Manager on budget tracking and freelance retouch costs.
- Log, track, and report image uploads and handovers; provide regular updates on progress and completion.
- Forecast and manage peak periods/workloads, including scheduling freelance retouch support as needed.
Qualifications and Skills
- Excellent organizational skills; proactive problem solver and clear communicator.
- Strong background in retouching/post-production across model, stills, and jewellery.
- Experience setting up and running retouch actions to streamline workflow.
- Knowledge of booking and sourcing freelance retouch support; a network of freelance retouchers is advantageous.
- Computer literate with Google Drive, Bridge, Capture One, and related tools.
- Ability to balance creative needs with business strategy and financial responsibility.
- Excellent communication skills across multiple stakeholders in a global organization.
- Ability to guide and provide feedback to in-house and freelance teams to elevate imagery.
- Understanding of digital color management to ensure consistency from sample to image.
- Collaborative, positive approach with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- End-to-end studio process understanding.
