The ROLE

The Merchandiser is responsible for delivering the planned sales and profitability of their department by managing and optimizing the categories through effective planning and trading.

• Deliver the planned sales and profitability of your department by managing and optimizing the categories through effective planning and trading
• Regular analysis of department performance to maximize commercial opportunities
• Monthly sales forecast analysis to determine OTB opportunity and provide feedback for future buys
• Through strategic planning and trading of the department manage the intake and OTB to deliver the inventory targets for the department and the brand
• Category ownership within quarterly buys: analysing sales, product selection, sales/ST% forecasting and buy planning in line with OTB. Presenting results to senior team for sign off
• Review size analysis and analyse market trends across product
• In collaboration with Innovations Lead, continuously look for opportunities to develop current systems and processes that are in place and be instrumental in implementing best practices
• Build relationships across the brand with regional teams and support with various topics e.g. capacity, pricing, stock levels, etc.
• Lead, manage and develop the junior Merchandising team

• Proven experience as a Merchandiser in Fashion Retail, with a strong track record of delivering results
• Strong analytical and numerical skills with the ability to analyze sales data, identify trends, and make recommendations to optimize performance
• Excellent understanding of retail math, including key performance indicators (KPIs) such as sales, gross margin, inventory turnover, and sell‑through
• Proficiency in planning and allocation systems and advanced Excel skills
• Solid understanding of the retail landscape, including market trends, competitor analysis, and customer behaviour
• Strong decision‑making skills with the ability to balance commercial needs with brand vision
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
• Strong organisational and time‑management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
• Commercial acumen and a strong understanding of how to drive profitability
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced and dynamic AllSaints environment
