THE ROLE
As Menswear Jersey Designer you will be accountable for creating a commercial jersey collection aligned with our AllSaints aesthetic. Collaborating closely with the rest of the jersey team to share knowledge and ideas, and create cohesive collections across both genders. The Designer is responsible for range building for the menswear customer, covering a variety of end uses and building the wardrobe that underpins the Menswear range. A strong understanding of colour and wash is imperative, as well as an excellent approach to vintage and contemporary garment research.
ABOUT THE TEAM
The Design department is the epicentre of our DNA and influences every part of our brand. We play a key role in setting the tone and direction of the brand visually, commercially and ensure that our customers receive the product they desire. In this role you will work closely with our Menswear Creative Lead and collaboratively with the Senior Womenswear Jersey Designer. Design and develop aspirational and appealing menswear jersey collections for AllSaints, owning the whole process of design from conception to production. Undertake extensive garment research with a keen eye for vintage and contemporary shape references. Alongside the product developer and fabric manager, source raw materials and trims and ensure all is booked according to the given timelines. Create tech packs for all styles with detailed specs & detail diagrams. Supervising corrections for samples through production including approval of colours, fabric hand-feel and wash. Building strong relationships with Suppliers and Mills. Presenting to creative leads and Chief Creative in design review meetings. Work closely with our garment tech team to ensure excellent fit throughout the collection.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR (SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS)
- A strong commercial background designing menswear jerseys.
- A degree in Fashion Design is preferable.
- A natural at building relationships internally and externally at all levels.
- Collaborative in your approach when working in a team.
- Proven experience of working with a technical team to fit all samples through to production.
- An entrepreneurial spirit always striving to do better.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Confident drawing by hand, but also proficient with illustrator & photoshop.
