THE ROLE

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Junior Bag Designer. In this role you will be responsible for research and design development. You will work with the team and help deliver men's and women's bags to SMS and production. You’ll have a clear understanding of the AllSaints aesthetic and what our customers want. You will be a Junior Designer or Designer with proven experience in model making and specing. This is an incredibly exciting time to join AllSaints following the recent appointment of Aaron Esh as our Chief Creative Officer. Your attention to detail will be strong and you will thrive working in a fast paced environment. You will be meticulous in your design process with strong attention to detail and an in depth approach to research and design development.

ABOUT THE TEAM

The Design department is the epicentre of our DNA and influences every part of our brand. We play a key role in setting the tone and direction of the brand visually, commercially and ensure that our customers receive the product they desire. Based at our iconic East London Studios this role will report to the Head of Design.

  • Collaborate with PD to approve bulk fabrics and garments to production.
  • Support with fit samples and ensure that clear comments are issued to our vendors.
  • Manage and mentor assistants and juniors.
  • Produce strong research and designs under direction from the CD and Head of Design.
  • Will have strong pattern cutting skills and will be able to make 3D moquettes to support spec work.
  • Will be able to spec bags and hardware and pass tech packs to factories.
  • Issuing of all styles with specs/swatches/layouts.
  • You’ll need to make most decisions independently, but will know when to seek advice from Senior Designer or Management.
  • Work to critical path deadlines to ensure on time deliveries into the business.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR (SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS)

  • Strong Illustrator and Photoshop are essential.
  • A degree in Fashion Design - Bag design would be great but not essential.
  • An understanding of the handwriting and commercial needs of the business, you’ll be able to help build a well balanced range.
  • A natural at building relationships internally and externally at all levels.
  • Collaborative in your approach when working in a team.
  • Proven experience of working with a technical team to fit all samples through to production.
  • Strong commercial awareness and ability to design to price point.
  • An entrepreneurial spirit always striving to do better.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
