The Finance Function handles all aspects of financial planning, accounting, reporting, tax, and treasury management for the global business.

Reporting to the Global CFO, this role will oversee all financial accounting activities, including monthly management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, overhead cost planning, treasury management, managing the annual audit, and preparing statutory accounts.

What Will I Be Doing?

  • Drive the month-end reporting timetable and produce management accounts, including consolidated income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Implement process improvements within the finance team, focusing on automation.
  • Maintain robust financial control processes across treasury and accounting functions.
  • Lead relationships with external auditors, manage the year-end audit, and ensure timely completion of statutory accounts.
  • Ensure timely production of statutory accounts for all group entities.
  • Oversee compliance with bank reporting requirements and manage related audits and reviews.
  • Manage treasury operations, including funding, payments, and cash transfers, aligning with targets and controls.
  • Partner with the business on overhead budgeting, reporting, and cost control, supporting leadership in performance analysis.
  • Maintain effective balance sheet reconciliation processes, resolving issues proactively.
  • Identify and resolve Netsuite system issues, collaborating with IT and systems teams.
  • Work with IT on change projects impacting financial reporting, ensuring compliance and smooth implementation.
  • Ensure adherence to accounting policies and standards, implementing new standards as needed.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives, including system re-operations and process efficiencies.
  • Act as deputy for the CFO when required, collaborating with other finance leaders and stakeholders.
  • Undertake ad hoc projects as assigned by the CFO.
  • Lead, develop, and motivate a team of over 10 professionals.
  • Build strong relationships with external parties like auditors, banks, and payment providers, and internally with leadership teams.

What Skills Do I Need?

  • ACA qualification with extensive post-qualification experience in multi-entity, multi-currency environments, and strong IFRS knowledge.
  • Proven leadership in managing and developing finance teams, with a track record of process improvements.
  • Experience in developing accounting systems while maintaining controls and compliance.
  • Ability to balance reporting with process and control requirements.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills, both internally and externally.
  • Retail industry experience is desirable.
